It was just a few Mothers Days’ ago that the very first Authentic Bagel was made.
Mark & Jason Scott, a pair of foodie brothers from the East Coast, were working together to build a new sandwich for an East Bay restaurant that they were working at. After a few trials and kitchen tribulations, a new bagel sandwich was added to the menu- and the buzz quickly followed.
What was first just an experiment became a common question amongst patrons of the restauraunt- and it was then that the brothers began making their very first bagel recipes. Their aim was to make a product that was unique & fresh, while blending their knowledge of both the East & West Coast bagel traditions.
After perfecting their original bagel lineup and handing out samples to some local coffee shops, the craving for product began to grow. Since then, the company has added over 10 vendors to it’s growing list of cafes & restaurants, and we look forward to continuing to provide the Bay Area with the best bagels.
Authentic Bagels are boiled and made with a traditional starter dough, as well as prepared with all-natural, homemade yeast. After some seasoning and baking (fresh every morning), we’ve made a bagel for everyone– a hearty blend of a San Francisco Sour Dough, with an East Coast texture, quality, and crust.
